I am a baby carrier freak.
Not in the, "I wear a baby 24/7" but more along the lines of "I have a spending problem when it comes to baby carriers."
In my mind, you can never have enough.
I'm pretty sure that isn't accurate, but it works for me, and when you have a baby, I think you should do whatever works for you and makes your life easier.
I have purchased the Moby Wrap, BabyBjorn, Infantino Up Close Newborn Carrier, Baby K'tan, Infantino Mai Tai, Evenflo Breathable Soft Carrier, and Boba Air Grey (given to me)
Im about to buy the new Ergo 4 position 360, but I have to wait to see if we get an older toddler or a newborn baby first...foster care...you never know.
Anyways, I try not to write posts about stuff that I don't know, but after having carried 10 babies in these different carriers, I feel like I am starting to become a pro.
So, I thought I would give my most humble opinion on baby carriers.
Humble, but correct. Just to be clear.
The Moby Wrap, in my humblest of opinions is just too much fabric.
Also, it was the hottest summer when my little Jackson came around, so trying to wear that much fabric and a little heater was no fun at all.
If you live in a cold climate area, the Moby Wrap might be great for you to bundle up your precious babe. In Texas, however, I do not recommend it unless you’re one of those tiny people who are “always cold” (insert eye roll emoji here)
Below is a link to the Moby Wrap and also a video tutorial of how to use it.
I watched these videos over and over again.
I did wrap my chihuahua in this during thunderstorms….She loved it. You could always use it for that reason..
The Baby Bjorn
Now, when I first tried the Baby Bjorn, I didn't like it.
It didn't feel cozy.
However, my husband loved it.
He has used it for all of our babies. (Bio and Foster)
I have used it a few times and have come to like it for when the kiddos are a little bit older.
It's easy and basic. Baby can face outward or inward.
Infantino Up Close Newborn Carrier
This one has actually been one of my favorites for newborns. We used this when we had the twin premies. They were so cuddly up in this thing. I loved carrying them in this. They were so stinking small that I could probably have carried both of them.
It's really a great price. You could probably use this for up to a 6 month old.
This has to be my favorite of all of the baby carriers. We got this when we had Dre (our third foster baby)
I used it for him for as long as possible.
(I was in my third trimester and my tummy got too big after a while.)
And I also used it for Taylor and Avery. I will still use it for Taylor on certain days and she is 17 months old.
It fits great. It stretches. Your baby feels super snug. And, it is easy to use.
You can order your K'Tan below! Comes in 4 different sizes!
Infantino Mai Tai
Meh. I don't think Im a huge fan of this. I didnt even get around to taking a picture of myself wearing it. It wasn't horrible, but I never used it very much, and I'm not quite sure why. I think it was just not that comfy and part of me felt like my baby was going to fall out... However, people on Amazon love it. So, give it a try if you read the reviews and think it would be right for you!
Evenflo Breathable Soft Carrier
This is hands down my favorite baby carrier. We have an older version of it, but it has stayed the same as far as design and ease of use. This is the cheapest and simplest baby carrier on the market, in my opinion. I use this on my almost two year old all the time.
Boba Air Grey
I love this baby carrier. I friend gave it to me, and it is definitely tied with my favorite BECAUSE it is perfect to wear in the pool with your baby. (Shallow end only, obviously). I take my babies in it and they relax in the water. It’s also just another easy baby carrier. It’s quick to put on. I actually wore one of our foster babies in it this morning at church while I greeted people. It’s a good price and fits my almost two year old foster boys.
So, that’s it. Those are my favorites and not so favorites. I really do feel like I am a baby carrying pro. I’ve had 10 babies so far, and I will always try to find the easiest way to haul them along with me wherever I go. Here they all are again.
